Harry Lewis very kindly hosted a small, yet very select, group of the OSGS Members to have a light lunch and play golf at Royal Porthcawl at our Welsh Meeting on 14 June.
We were blessed with hardly any wind for the first nine holes and despite a few brief showers of rain it was a warm and pleasant day to play golf on this magnificent golf links.
Those who played, in addition, to Harry Lewis were, Dan Evans, James Onions and Charles Hill. Everybody won a small prize and took away a small momento from Royal Porthcawl.

Post the golf we had Tea and Crumpets in the bar. Another player had just had a hole in one at the 4thhole – se we were invited to have a glass of champagne with them too – a proper golf club!!!
We all really enjoyed the course and we discussed trying to re-invigorate this meeting in 2020 to the format that Harry’s Father used to host whereby – OSGS Members stayed in the Dormy House at Royal Porthcawl and had a dinner on the evening before a round of golf with a light lunch and then departure – to make this work though we need at least 12 people to play.
Would you be willing to do this next year?– if so please register your interest with the Hon Sec by emailing him: email@example.com
Many thanks to Harry Lewis for hosting us too!
Charles Hill, Hon Sec
