On a glorious summer’s afternoon 18 Golfers met at Huntercombe Golf Club, by kind permission of Tim Lewis, our recently retired Hon Sec, to take on this Willie Park Jnr designed course first established in 1891.
The Golfers were a mixture of OSGS and Sabrina Members, getting ready for the Henley Royal Regatta, and some invited guest players.
We went out in three balls and played an Individual Stableford Competition with some additional prizes.
Drinks took place on the Club’s outside patio from 5.30pm overlooking the 18thGreen and more Salopians and their guests arrived for the buffet supper.
At 7.00pm 32 people say down for supper in the Huntercombe dinning-room. Tim Lewis gave us a witty non Latin Grace! A delicious two course meal was served and after supper Prize Giving took place with a vote of thanks from the Hon Secretary, Charles Hill.
