Trentham Golf Club

The OSGS is planning to start golf again with our 59th Visit to Trentham on Sunday 4 October 2020.

We have decided not to hold the AGM at this meeting but to concentrate on some golf and a bite to eat afterwards – in a socially distanced format – of course!

Simon Mellard, (OS Churchills 1973-78) is Captain of Trentham GC this year and will be our host for the day and I hope as many of you as are able will support him and the OSGS for this event

Trentham is an outstanding course which has hosted Open Championship Qualifying, England Golf and Staffordshire County Events for Gentlemen, Ladies and Juniors  in recent years.

This year we will play both a Gross & Nett Competition with some other Prizes on the day.

The Winner of the Best Gross will win The Storey Putter (Holder: Simon Shepherd)

The Winner of the Best Nett will win The Tommy Hall Cup (Holder: Rob Bennett)

Format of the fixture is as follows:

11am onwards  Arrive for Bacon Roll & Tea / Coffee – Dress Golf Attire

12 Midday First Tee in 3 /4 Balls depending on numbers playing

Circa 5pm 2 Course Supper & Prizes Giving in Jacket & Tie and equivalent for Ladies – Buy Your Own Drinks / Wines at Supper

If there are any younger OSGS Members who want to enter this as one of their free events – please email the Hon Sec direct: charlesgchill@hotmail.com to book your place
