Cancellation of all Forthcoming OSGS Events including the Campion Trophy Knock-Out 2020 due to Covid-19

Dear All OSGS Members,

I am writing to you all to inform you that the OSGS President, Anthony Smith, and myself have discussed the current situation with regards to Covid-19 and it’s effects on our OSGS golfing calendar this year. I have also been in touch with Colonel Nick Jenkins, the OS Club Director.

We have decided to cancel all our forthcoming OSGS Events, including the Campion Trophy this year, because travelling to a golfing event cannot be described as “essential travel”.

I trust you will all understand this decision in the circumstances.

Those members who have recently paid any match fees via the OSGS website will receive a full refund from me in due course.

This process will take a bit of time for me to achieve as I have to refund your monies individually via the OSGS bank account. I cannot refund fees to your credit/debit cards via the website. I will, naturally, not have all your individual bank details.  As a result, you may receive an email from me requesting your bank account details in due course – thanks for your patience with this process.

In terms of future events later in the year, for absolute clarity, both the Scottish Tour and the Nottinghamshire Tour are both cancelled.

In effect all events up to the end of July 2020 are currently cancelled.

Once the national situation becomes clearer, the President and I will seek to review what meetings/matches might be able to be reinstated later in the year.

I will email you all again before the end of July with an updated position.

I hope you all stay well and safe!

Best wishes

Charles Hill

Hon Sec.
